Hello, Lexington!

Good morning and welcome to LexObserver’s Friday news roundup.

A special welcome to everybody who is receiving this email for the first time after signing up at our Discovery Day booth! You can expect to receive this newsletter every Friday morning, and each edition will typically include between one and three news articles, as well as community announcements and letters to the editor when we have submissions. We hope it’s helpful to you, and always welcome feedback and story ideas at sophie@lexobserver.org.

To those of you who were already on board but stopped by our booth last Saturday anyway: Erin, Cam and I so enjoyed seeing you in person! The thing about sustaining a digital news startup is…shoe leather reporting aside, making the magic happen sometimes requires an awful lot of time spent staring at screens…so seeing many of you in person on a sunny Saturday was a breath of fresh air! Thank you so much for saying hello, and we hope you had a great long weekend.

Now, here’s this week’s news.

In this issue:

Letters to the Editor

To submit a letter to the editor, please contact letters@lexobserver.org. Thank you!

Community Submissions

To submit a community announcement, please contact community@lexobserver.org. Thank you!

That’s a wrap for today. Was this roundup useful to you? What do you want to see in this email next week? Let us know, and please ask your friends to sign up and DONATE too! Reach out to sophie@lexobserver.org with tips and questions anytime. As always, you can also check out and share our websiteTwitterInstagram and Facebook pages. Thanks so much for reading and have a great weekend!
