My husband and I have been fortunate to raise our three children in Lexington for the past 18 years. Our youngest is now a junior at LHS. The qualities that brought us to Lexington– wonderful schools, diversity and inclusivity, a proud history, active volunteerism, top recreational resources, and commitment to sustainability–are among the qualities I strive to protect and foster as a Town Meeting Member. I am running for re-election to Town Meeting because there are important challenges facing the town on which I am well-positioned to represent Precinct 4 due to my professional background and experience in town government. Key areas of focus will be evaluating policies related to population growth expected from the MBTA Communities Act and other dense development, considering ways to offset the residential tax impact of the much-needed LHS project, expanding protections for trees and natural spaces, and ensuring that Lexington is vigilant in protecting democracy and residents’ constitutional rights in light of current upheaval at the federal level.
