I am writing to enthusiastically endorse Robert (“Bob”) Creech for one of the two contested Planning Board seats in our upcoming town election on March 2, 2026.

Having known Bob for years, I’ve seen firsthand his dedication as a Planning Board member. He is someone who consistently “does his homework,” deeply investigating the complexities of every decision. With three terms of experience, Bob possesses a master-level understanding of Lexington’s zoning laws—an essential asset as we navigate this major phase of growth.

What sets Bob apart is his commitment to transparency and balance. He doesn’t just review plans; he seeks out and listens to the residents affected by them. I believe his perspective on thoughtful development was shaped by his years in Europe, where planners must preserve history while embracing modernization and the needs of an aging population.

Lexington is at a critical inflection point. The question isn’t if we will grow—regarding housing, infrastructure, and emergency services—but how we will grow. Bob understands that affordable housing is a necessity, but he also knows we need the right tools to achieve it. Notably, he recognized that MBTA-Communities zoning wasn’t the right fit for our specific needs. In 2025, he strongly supported Article 2 to roll back that acreage in favor of more beneficial zoning tools, aligning with the overwhelming majority of Town Meeting members (only 9 voted against it).

Bob’s vision for Lexington includes:

  • Sensible Growth: Having the benefit of experience to implement effective, long-term land-use policies.
  • Environmental Stewardship: Ensuring all residents, regardless of housing type, benefit from trees and open space.
  • Inclusivity: Crafting zoning laws that encourage sensible, healthy, planned growth for residents of all ages and income levels.

This is a transformative moment for our town, and the Planning Board will play a vital role over the next three years. I  have full confidence that Bob will remain 100% dedicated to this mission.  As an incumbent, he can truly be proud of his track record.  He will continue to work toward implementing the best possible zoning bylaws that will provide the best possible outcomes.

I hope you will join me in voting for Bob Creech and encourage your friends and neighbors to do the same. You can learn more about Bob and how to help his campaign at www.creechforlexington.org.
