In February 2026, Lexington students Matthew Cehn and Rohan Danda, along with two RSM teachers who are also Lexington residents, presented their work at the Eastern Educational Research Association (EERA) Conference in Florida, an academic forum typically attended by graduate and postdoctoral researchers.

They participated as members of a research team of students and staff from the Russian School of Mathematics and Boston College and were the only high school students presenting alongside established scholars in the field.

The team applied the research and data science skills they developed at RSM to conduct a statistical analysis of a large data set, employing multiple linear regression techniques. Their findings were presented in a research paper titled, “Online Learning Behaviors and Student Outcomes Across Different Academic Levels and Their Teaching Implications”.

The students gained insight into how classroom mathematics can be applied to real-world research questions and how scientific inquiry is conducted in academic fields.

Their paper is currently under peer review and is expected to be published in the journal “Discover Education” in 2026.
