As a professional planner, I am endorsing Tina McBride and Lin Jenson for election to the Lexington Planning Board.

Lin will bring to the Lexington Planning Board an extraordinary skill set in municipal zoning and planning, an inclusive and sustainable vision for our future, and a demonstrated dedication to working productively with other elected officials while listening to the needs of the residential and business communities.

As someone who has observed Tina’s work as a Town Meeting member and on zoning and other planning issues in other venues over the past ten years, Tina is gifted with the trifecta needed for this demanding board position:

1)    Understanding of Lexington’s zoning history as well as both a sustainable and an inclusive vision for Lexington’s future.  As someone raised in Lexington, Tina has deep roots and knowledge of the Town;

2)    Tina is always prepared.  Before making decisions and voting, she considers all the relevant information, including reports, studies, analyses, etc.  She also monitors successful projects/models in other communities.

3)    Tina listens.  She views listening to others as the one of the major responsibilities of representing her precinct in Town Meeting, and has brought the same strength to other community initiatives, conferring with other elected officials as well as community members.
