For over 25 years, the Lexington Lions Club has been delivering Thanksgiving dinners to shut-in elderly or disabled residents in town to spread the holiday cheer. The Thanksgiving dinner includes sliced turkey breast, stuffing, mashed potato, and pie.

This year, the Lexington Lions Club prepared and delivered 114 turkey dinners to 71 households, many of whom were residents in Countryside Village, Greeley Village, and Vynebrooke Village.

As with previous years, Lions John and Doug Lucente purchased all food and packaging items, and Michael Ortly, who oversees the LHS cafeteria, led the meal preparation crew.

For the past three years, Houze Xu, President of CALex (Chinese Americans of Lexington), has been leading the delivery crew of adults and children.

In addition to having an enjoyable meal, residents who received the meals were delighted with the opportunity to interact with the delivery crew, especially children. Some residents prepared small thank-you gifts such as chocolates and apples for the children.

We thank everyone who participated on Thanksgiving Day to keep this tradition strong. It truly takes a village.

From all of us at the Lexington Lions Club, Happy Holidays!
