In January, Google asked students across the U.S. to submit their ideas for the 14th annual Doodle for Google contest. This year, they invited K-12 students to answer the prompt “I care for myself by…” through art.
We were amazed by the submissions we received. Across ages, students showcased how they cultivate self-care practices in thoughtful and intentional ways.
On July 7, we announced that Joley Leung from William Diamond Middle School in Lexington is one of our 54 state and territory winners. To celebrate their achievements, we sent each of the 54 students Google hardware and swag, and held celebrations in their hometowns.
Joley said of her artwork, titled Stretch Breaks: “I care for myself by having stretch breaks. It helps me relax my body and my mind. After stretching, I feel more calm, which gets me more ready for my next activity.”
We’ve posted a Keyword blogpost and updated doodle4google.com with a full gallery of all 54 state and territory winners. Five National Finalists will be announced July 28.
