Lexington High School Building Project – Environmental Justice Community Meeting

The Massachusetts Environmental Protection Act (MEPA) review process provides opportunities for public review of a project’s potential environmental impacts. The Town of Lexington School Building Committee’s Lexington High School (LHS) Project will host a virtual Environmental Justice (EJ) community meeting to specifically engage EJ communities and community-based organizations on the Project and MEPA process.

Please join us on virtually Thursday, February 5, 2026 from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM for the EJ Community Meeting.

This meeting will provide an opportunity to raise questions regarding the project and the MEPA review process.

The Lexington High School Project would involve demolition of the existing school building and its associated infrastructure to address aging facilities, expand shared spaces, enhance safety, and improve resiliency. The Project is currently undergoing environmental review under MEPA procedures, where an Expanded Environmental Notification Form (EENF) was filed on August 15, 2025, and an EENF Certificate was issued on October 17, 2025. The Project team has commenced work on preparing a Single Environmental Impact Report (SEIR), as a requirement of the EENF Certificate. The EENF Certificate also encouraged the Town to continue public outreach, including opportunities for the public to learn more about the project and continue to offer comments and ask questions as the project goes through the remaining environmental review process. The meeting on this date is one such opportunity. The Town of Lexington School Building Committee is committed to providing ample access and opportunity to stay up-to-date on this Project, consistent with the EENF Certificate. Previous meeting information and further details on the project and MEPA involvement is available through MEPA or the Lexington High School Building Project website (https://www.lhsproject.lexingtonma.org/).
