Legacy of the Skies: A Grandson’s Tribute to a Legendary Aviator

A grandson rescues a box of letters and artifacts from an attic and discovers that his grandfather, whom he barely knew, was a genuine hero in both World Wars I and II as well as an adventurer, aviation pioneer, and entrepreneur.  He tracks down a cousin he has never met to add pieces to this puzzle, and strikes gold.  With boxes of photos, diaries, letters and mementos to work with, he writes a book to tell his grandfather’s story.

On Monday, May 11 at Brookhaven at Lexington,  Doug Hall will share the military exploits of his grandfather, trailblazing aviator James Goodwin Hall, along with his many post-war accomplishments.  Sponsored by the Lexington Veterans Association, the program begins with coffee and conversation at 12:45 pm and the talk at 1:15 p.m.  To watch the program by Zoom, get the Zoom link at lexmavets.com.
