Lexington, MA – February 8, 2025 – The 3rd Annual Lexington Lantern Festival transformed First Parish Church into a dazzling cultural celebration. Organized by the New Legacy Cultural Center (NLCC) with First Parish Lexington, CAAL, the Lexington Historical Society, and the 250th Commission. the event was a resounding success with support from the Massachusetts Cultural Council.

Marking the first full moon of the Lunar New Year, the festival symbolizes unity and renewal. Hundreds gathered to celebrate Lexington’s diversity through a vibrant fusion of East and West.

Festival highlights included a handmade lantern workshop, face painting, cultural exhibits, and interactive showcases like Go (Weiqi), guzheng, and Colonial dance performances. The 3 Tenors of First Parish Choir’s Yi Jian Mei and the William Diamond Junior Fife and Drum Corps finale captivated attendees.

The night culminated in a grand lantern parade, led by the Fife and Drum Corps, with dragon dance teams and glowing lantern displays. A LexMedia live stream and large-scale projections on First Parish’s exterior walls brought the magic to the entire community, solidifying the festival as a true Lexington tradition.
