Tell us a little about yourself. You can include your personal background, family, outside interests that are important to who you are as a person and a candidate.
We moved to Lexington in 2017 after living in California for 6 years. Moving to Massachusetts and settling here in Lexington has been one of the most important and fulfilling decisions we’ve made. While raising our two children here, much of my time has been spent volunteering for the Lexington Public Schools. I am currently the Co-president of the Lexington High School PTO, and previously served as VP of Membership. I served on the board of the Diamond Middle School PTO, and at Estabrook I volunteered as a room parent, as well as in the library, art class, and the Big Backyard program. In all three schools, I have been a member of the Green Team, helping to implement composting programs and reduce waste in the cafeterias. In all these roles, I have worked with other parents and community members; as LHS PTO President, I meet regularly with the principal and monthly in a group with the LPS Superintendent. Additionally, I am currently training to be on the board of the Lexington Education Foundation in town.
I have recently become more involved with the Indian American community of Lexington and help with the IAL Education Committee. I have also organized neighborhood gatherings.
