The following incidents were selected from the Lexington Police Department log during the week leading up to September 14. The Lexington Observer does not independently verify this information.
Animal Control and Complaints
Wednesday, September 9 at 11:45 a.m., a caller reported a medium-sized black dog without a tag near Whipple Hill. The dog was described as non-aggressive. The caller informed dispatch that the dog was retrieved before the Animal Control officer arrived.
Wednesday, September 9 at 6:20 p.m., a Phillip Rd. resident asked to speak with an officer regarding a dog bite while on Mass Ave. The individual reported she had been bitten by a dog on Sunday at approximately 3 p.m. while running. She couldn’t contact the owners of the two dogs. There were two small bite marks on her leg, and she sought treatment at Newton Wellesley Hospital. The ACO was notified.
Community Engagement
Wednesday, September 9 at 9 am, Lieutenant Dunbar attended the Lexington Human Rights Committee meeting as the department liaison.
Wednesday, September 9 at 3:25 p.m., Detective Hankins assisted the Bridge School with its dismissal. Vehicles arrived, queued, and left without incident.
Thursday, September 10 at 7 p.m., Sergeant Dell’Anno met with the Town Bicycle Committee to discuss the upcoming meeting scheduled at Clark and Diamond Middle Schools, along with other topics for their monthly meeting.
Friday, September 11 at 8:50 a.m., Officer McGloin attended the 9/11 memorial hosted by Lexington High School.
Friday, September 11 at 9:50 a.m., several officers attended the 9/11 memorial service held at the Bedford St. Fire headquarters.
Community Engagement – Comfort Dogs
Tuesday, September 8 and Friday, September 11, K. Hankins and K9 Watson visited students in the Therapeutic Learning Program at Lexington High School.
Tuesday, September 8 at 12:05 p.m., Detective Sullivan and K9 Maisey greeted students and staff in the hallways and in the guidance Office at Clark Middle School.
Wednesday, September 9 at 10 a.m., K9 Watson and K9 Maisey attended the monthly Pawfice Hour hosted at Cary Memorial Library.
Wednesday, September 9 at 4:15 p.m., Detectives Sullivan and Hankins took K9 Maisey and K9 Watson to Lexington High School for the 9/11 memorial ceremony.
Friday, September 11 at 10 a.m., Detective Sullivan and K9 Maisey attended the 9/11 memorial service hosted at fire headquarters.
Fraud
Friday, September 11 at 3:40 p.m., a Cliffe Ave. resident and a Representative of my ID Care Credit Monitoring service spoke with a representative from Radius Global Solutions, a collection agency, about a credit issue in this resident’s name. At the time, he was advised that an unknown individual had used his information to open electrical service with Eversource in Enfield, CT. Eversource estimates the total cost of the fraud at $3,064.74. This resident is currently working with Eversource to resolve the issue. No loss or threats from the collection agency were reported. This resident has since frozen his credit reports with the three major credit bureaus and placed himself on a one-year fraud alert on the National Consumer and Utilities Exchange.
Larceny – Theft from a Building
Saturday, September 12 at 1:15 p.m., a Wachusett Dr. resident reported that several of his All-Clad pots and pans, valued at $1,500, were taken from his home sometime between Aug. 30 and Sept. 7. He stated that no one else had a key to the house, nothing else was taken, and all doors were locked. The responding officer reported there didn’t appear to have been a break-in where a suspect could have entered the house. The responding officer will investigate further to determine if the items were actually stolen or misplaced.
Noise Complaints
Wednesday, September 9 at 4:50 a.m., a Manor Terrace resident reported hearing someone singing very loudly from a nearby apartment. The individual in the other apartment said he didn’t realize the time and agreed to stop for the night.
Sunday, September 13 at 2:05 a.m., a Woodcliff Rd. resident reported loud music coming from the parking lot at 9 Hayden Ave. The responding officer reported a large gathering of adults from Waltham who had organized through social media. They were advised to disperse. License plates were recorded.
