June 20th is National American Eagle Day. In addition to the national day, Save Lexington Wildlife (SLW) has secured a proclamation for Bald Eagle Day from the Governor and from the town of Lexington!  SLW invites everyone to celebrate Bald Eagle Day with us by joining a photo op at the VO250 Arch on June 20th at 9am.  This event will acknowledge the importance of the Bald Eagle but also mourn the fact that we have lost 5 Bald Eagles in Massachusetts since 2021 from anticoagulant rodenticides. Lexington has passed two town meeting articles relative to prohibiting the use of these poisons, indicating that the town cares about this issue.  At the top of the VO250 sits an eagle – thus providing a perfect spot for the photo-op.
