I am excited to announce my candidacy for the Planning Board.
I’ve lived in Lexington for two decades, and served as a Town Meeting member (Precinct 8) for eight years.

Having studied, worked and lived in cities and suburbs of the U.S., China, and Germany, I recognize and appreciate the extraordinary history and conservation efforts of our town.
My vision for Lexington is:
- Proactive, thoughtful, long-range planning;
- Real community engagement and data-driven analysis before rezoning;
- Preserve historic and leafy neighborhoods while promoting housing affordability and a vibrant business environment.
Zoning is complex and not binary: housing vs no housing. Good intentions or campaign promises are not enough. Experience, care and foresight are critical to avoid unintended consequences and mitigate potential impacts on town services and the more vulnerable among us.
I have demonstrated analytical and independent research skills honed from my corporate finance work in a global conglomerate, and a 10-year track record of advocating for sustainability and better zoning for our community.
This is how I voted as a Town Meeting member on MBTA Zoning changes:
- In 2023 I supported compliance with the state law but voted “No” on Article 34, the Planning Board’s proposal to zone 253 acres for by-right MBTA multifamily housing.
- In 2025 I voted “Yes” on Article 2, the citizens’ petition to scale back the MBTA zoning to a more sustainable level.
- I voted “No” on the amendment to add back the 25-acre Lexington Center in Article 2, which would have limited the Planning Board’s ability to shape potential projects in the historic area.
Additionally, in collaboration with community groups and town staff, I have co-authored five policies and bylaws on sustainability, and the following on zoning:
- Amendments to by-right zoning Articles 33 (Special Residential Developments) & 34 (MBTA Multifamily) that would have given the Planning Board and community the ability to shape projects and utilize more effective zoning tools to reach the town’s goals (2023)
- Amendment to Article 30 to increase affordable housing percentage in Special Residential Developments from 15% to 17.6% (2025, adopted by Town Meeting)
- Zoning regulation amendments on Site Plan Review and Sustainability (2025, adopted by Planning Board)
If elected, I will represent you, our residents, and bring both vision and experience to the Planning Board.

LETS GOOOOO LIN JENSEN!!! EVERYBODY VOTE!!!! 😀
I’m really pleased to hear that Lin Jensen is running for Planning Board. Her long standing history of volunteering for Lexington coupled with her comprehensive approach to planning, care for the environment and valuing resident concerns would serve the Planning Board and the town of Lexington well. Please vote on Monday, March 2nd!
I am excited that Lin Jensen is running for the Planning Board. The Planning Board plays a vital role in shaping our town’s future, and Lin’s advocacy for thoughtful planning and sustainable growth is much needed to ensure a balanced and forward-looking perspective on the board.
For the past ten years, Lin has spoken up on behalf of the community on zoning issues and has consistently proposed constructive changes. Her long-standing dedication through volunteer service in our town, combined with her experience helping to advance meaningful policy and bylaw changes, will be a tremendous asset to the Planning Board.
I hope Lexington voters will join me in supporting Lin Jensen for the Planning Board.
As someone caring for an aging parent, Lin has a deep, personal understanding of what older residents need to live safely, stay healthy, and stay connected in our community. We’ve both been advocating for affordable, accessible housing options for Lexington’s seniors, and I know she will continue to champion zoning and housing policies that allow seniors to age in place. Lin is committed to a data‑driven approach, using evidence and careful analysis to guide informed decisions for zoning policies. I support Lin for the Planning Board.
