My name is Gauri Govil, a Lexington resident. I along with fellow residents Deepika Sawhney and Sudha Cheruku, have submitted a citizens’ petition to the Town Clerk’s Office under the resident-led initiative LIFT – Lex Initiative for Financial Transparency (liftlexma@gmail.com).
The petition focuses on the newly approved BLOOM School Project for LHS & calls for a committee to oversee spending and regularly report on the project’s financial status to various town bodies.
Article submitted:
To see if the Town Meeting will authorize the Select Board to form a committee to oversee financial expenditures for the BLOOM project (new Lexington High School). Additionally, for the committee to periodically report back to the Town Meeting Members Association and/or the Select Board, School Committee, and financial committees on the fiscal progress of the project, or act in any other manner in relation thereto.
The Town Clerk has confirmed our petition & it will appear on the Annual Town Meeting Warrant for review & vote by town members.
