The following incidents were selected from the Lexington Police Department log during the week leading up to October 14. The Lexington Observer does not independently verify this information.

Community Engagement
Monday, October 13, at 2:10 p.m., officers attended an event for Indigenous Peoples’ Day.
Community Engagement: Comfort Dogs
Tuesday, October 7, at 10:45 a.m., Detective Sullivan and K9 Maisey visited two classrooms and the guidance office at Clark Middle School.
Tuesday, October 7, at 12:15 p.m., School Resource Officer Hankins and K9 Watson visited Lexington High School and spent time greeting students and staff.
Tuesday, October 7, at 1:15 p.m., SRO Hankins and K9 Watson visited the Alpha program designated for students returning from long-term absences. K9 Watson spent the class block meeting students.
Wednesday, October 8, at 11 a.m., K9 Watson and SRO Hankins visited with students and staff in the TLP program at the high school.
Wednesday, October 8, at 2:30 p.m., SRO Hankins and K9 Watson visited with students and staff in the TLP program at the high school.
Wednesday, October 8, at 9:30 a.m., Detective Sullivan and K9 Maisey went to Clark Middle School for picture day. Students and staff greeted K9 Maisey in the cafeteria.
Thursday, October 9, at 6:15 p.m., K9 Watson and K9 Maisey visited a Scout meeting at the Battle Green. The Scouts enjoyed a meeting with both dogs and learned about their roles with the Police Department.
Suspicious Activity
Friday, October 10, at 9:45 p.m., a North Road resident reported someone behind his shed who started walking away when this resident noticed him. Responding officers were able to identify the individual as a patient from the Bedford VA Hospital. Their ER was closed at the time, so officers transported the individual to Lahey.
Disturbance
Friday, October 10, at 6:15 p.m., a caller reported an elderly woman who appeared to be intoxicated and caused a disturbance with the customers at Starbucks on Bedford Street. The responding officer reported that the woman’s daughter was contacted and agreed to pick her mother up.
Noise Complaints and Town Bylaws
Town Bylaws: Leaf Blower Infractions (455) – During this past week, four reports regarding the gas leaf blower bylaw infractions were made. Residents can be fined for these infractions. Please note that homeowners are responsible for all that occurs on their property. If necessary, remind your employees to follow Lexington’s Bylaws.
Town Bylaws: Noise Ordinance Infractions (451)
Saturday, October 11, at 8:45 a.m., an anonymous informant reported electric leaf blower activity on Cottage Street before the allowed 9 a.m. start time for weekends.
Monday, October 13, at 9:05 a.m., a caller reported a contractor working in violation of the town bylaws regarding work on holidays. Employees from Brothers Tile were advised of the bylaw and stopped work.
Animal Control and Complaints
Tuesday, October 7, at 6:15 p.m., a Golden Avenue resident reported a dog in her yard that did not belong to her. The Animal Control Officer (ACO) checked the area, and the dog was gone upon his arrival.
Thursday, October 9, at 12:15 p.m., a Summer Street resident reported alpacas running loose in the street. The responding officer located the alpacas’ owner, who corralled the alpacas and returned them home.
Saturday, October 11, at 10:35 a.m., a Sunny Knoll Avenue resident reported finding a lost dog. It was brought to a veterinarian’s office to be scanned for a chip. There was an untraceable, unregistered chip. A photo was taken and sent to a detective for social media posting, and an email was sent to the ACO. The dog’s owner retrieved it from the town kennel.
Larceny
Friday, October 10, at 1:10 p.m., a Baker Avenue resident reported two delivered packages had been stolen from his porch. The packages contained three iPhones valued at $3,600. The suspect’s vehicle was a gray Explorer.
Saturday, October 11, at 10:15. a.m., a Burlington Street resident reported theft of prescription medication. She believed this occurred during a recent open house that took place from Oct. 2 to Oct. 5.
Sunday, October 12, at 2 p.m., an individual reported a past larceny that occurred on Friday, Oct. 10. The individual lost access to her accounts and the login information was on a piece of paper in her wallet. She was advised to notify her banks. She currently resides in Needham and will alert Needham PD, as her license was also taken.
