On April 21st, I will run the Boston Marathon to raise funds for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. This cause is incredibly personal to me, as I am running in honor of my sister, who overcame non-Hodgkin lymphoma thanks to the exceptional care she received at Dana-Farber and the Jimmy Fund.
Throughout my training, I’ve been inspired by the stories shared by my team members. Many have had loved ones treated at Dana-Farber or have been treated there themselves. No one’s journey to completing a marathon is the same, however, those of us running for Dana-Farber share a common bond—each of us has a story of what drives us to complete 26.2 miles and raise over $10,000.
No matter who you are, cancer will touch your life in some capacity. The Dana-Farber team is filled with members who have witnessed the resilience of those undergoing cancer treatment. Please join me in this effort to make a difference in the fight against cancer. Every dollar donated supports the Claudia Adams Barr Program in Innovative Basic Cancer Research, helping bring us closer to new treatments and cures. Your support funds research that saves lives, including my sister’s, and will continue to save many more.
