Letter to the editor: Thank you, Lexington!

I am truly honored, humbled, and filled with gratitude for the trust and support you have placed in me once again. Serving this incredible community is one of the greatest privileges of my life, and I do not take it lightly. This victory is not just mine—it belongs to all of us who believe in progress, inclusion, and the strength of working together. Thank you for believing in me, in our shared values, and in what we can accomplish when we come together to make a difference.

To my husband, Charles, and our two amazing children, Kristopher and Paige—your unwavering support, encouragement, and patience throughout this campaign have meant everything. There were long nights, busy days, and moments of exhaustion, but your love and belief in me never wavered. You reminded me why this work is so important and why pushing forward is always the right choice. I could not have done this without you, and I am endlessly grateful.

A heartfelt and profound thank you to my campaign team—Margaret Counts-Klebe, JJ Krawczyk, Amelia Worthy, and David Kearney. Your guidance, dedication, and boundless positive energy carried me through this journey. You strategized, problem-solved, and lifted me up when the road felt tough. To Charles, your work on social media was nothing short of phenomenal. You helped bring our message to the forefront, ensuring that people knew what we stood for and why this campaign mattered. We may have been a small team, but we were mighty, and together we proved that determination, resilience, and collaboration can accomplish what some thought was impossible.

I also want to extend a special thank you to everyone who supported me behind the scenes—the friends, colleagues, and community members who offered advice, encouragement, and critical feedback. Getting a 90-second message to resonate in large forums was no small task, and your insights, suggestions, and belief in our mission made all the difference. Every conversation, every word of encouragement, and every act of support helped propel this campaign forward.

On behalf of our entire team, I want to extend my deepest gratitude to our generous donors who made it possible for us to fund postcards and newspaper ads. Your support ensured that we were able to get our message out to every household in Lexington. Your generosity not only helped spread awareness, but also strengthened our impact, reaching those who most needed to hear our message. Thank you for believing in our work and for being a vital part of our success.

This campaign was especially significant because it tested the values that make Lexington the community we all cherish. In the end, it reaffirmed our commitment to being a town that is welcoming, inclusive, and a place where every person is seen, heard, and valued. The results of this election show that we stand united in our pursuit of excellence, equity, and opportunity for all.

Now, the real work begins. I am ready to roll up my sleeves and continue pushing Lexington Public Schools forward—ensuring that our schools, our families, and our entire community thrive. I look forward to collaborating with all of you, listening to your voices, and working tirelessly to elevate our district to new heights.
