I am enthusiastically supporting Eileen Jay for School Committee. I served on the Committee with Eileen from 2017-2020, a time when the community faced many challenging issues, such as the hiring of and transition to a new superintendent, adoption of later start times, rapid enrollment growth, and redistricting. I valued Eileen’s thoughtful contributions to Committee discussions, which always focused on what was best for students.

Now, as the LPS community is grappling with even more complex issues, I feel that I can rely on Eileen to make well-informed, fair-minded decisions for my children, their teachers, and Lexington taxpayers. Her many years of experience with every aspect of the school system, including budgets, school operations, and curriculum, and how they fit into municipal finances, is particularly valuable.

I know that Eileen will approach every issue before her with openness, intelligence, diligence, and honesty, and will welcome community feedback.

Please join me in voting for Eileen Jay on Monday, March 3rd!
