Voices on the Green, Lexington’s storytelling and music presentation that offers two shows a year, is preparing for our April 4th show. The theme is “Breaking Away “ – an opportunity for sharing personal stories about making a change in one’s life from so many directions. The Voices on the Green team is looking for true, personal stories of about 4-7 minutes. We have wonderful coaches with storytelling experience who are ready to help you polish and tell your story to a large and enthusiastic audience.
“Breaking Away” runs the emotional gamut from heartbreaking, to poignant, from funny to uplifting or even provocative. It can mean breaking up with a partner; leaving one’s country; leaving a group of friends, or a whole way of life. Or it might focus on an athlete breaking away from competitors, or recognizing that you are living through a change in maturity and focus. In short: there are many ways to interpret this theme! So tell us your story! The deadline for proposing your story for inclusion in our next program is January 31, 2025.
