Be cautious of mixed precipitation on Wednesday and rain showers Thursday afternoon, but overall, travel conditions look manageable for the holiday week.

Friday, December 20: Cloudy and colder, with a high near 33°F. Snow showers likely, with a period of steadier snow showers at night. Winds from the northeast at 6 to 8 mph. Evening temperatures will drop to around 23°F under mostly cloudy skies, with north winds around 8 mph. New snow accumulation of a coating 2” is possible.  Use caution, as roads may become slick in the evening.

Saturday, December 21: Clouds with breaks of sun; breezy, with a few lingering ocean-effect snow showers in the early part of the day. High near 31°F. Northwest winds at 7 to 10 mph, gusting up to 20 mph. Evening temperatures will dip to around 12°F under partly cloudy skies, with northwest winds around 9 mph. Bundle up for outdoor activities, as it will feel like midwinter.

Sunday, December 22: Plenty of sun but very cold; the coldest air so far this season. High near 21°F. Northwest winds at 8 to 10 mph, with gusts up to 20 mph. Evening temperatures will drop to around 7°F under mostly clear skies, with northwest winds around 7 mph. Dress warmly if heading outdoors.

Monday, December 23: Sunny and cold, with a high near 25°F. Northwest winds at 3 to 5 mph. Evening temperatures will fall to around 15°F under partly cloudy skies, with calm winds. A cold but calm day, suitable for indoor activities or brief outdoor errands.

Tuesday, December 24: Considerable cloudiness, with a high near 34°F. Southwest winds at 3 to 5 mph. Evening lows will drop to around 24°F under mostly cloudy skies, with calm winds. A milder day compared to earlier in the week, making for more comfortable outdoor activities.

Wednesday, December 25: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 36°F. A chance of mixed precipitation in the afternoon as temperatures rise slightly. Calm winds. Evening temperatures will fall to around 29°F under mostly cloudy skies. A seasonable and pleasant holiday; dress warmly if you plan to spend time outdoors celebrating, and be cautious of slick surfaces where precipitation occurs.

Thursday, December 26: Low clouds, with a high near 41°F. A chance of rain showers in the afternoon, with winds from the west at 5 to 8 mph. Evening lows will drop to around 33°F under cloudy skies. A relatively mild day, suitable for post-holiday outdoor activities, but plan for wet conditions later in the day.

Friday, December 27: Low clouds, with a high near 42°F. Winds from the west at 5 to 8 mph. Evening temperatures will be around 32°F under cloudy skies. A calm and cool day, with overcast conditions persisting.
