A recent letter that asked people to vote in the September 3rd primary did not mention the candidate it’s important to support.

Mara Dolan is working to unseat Marilyn Deveany (the incumbent) as our representative for the Governor’s Council. Mara is a public defender and is endorsed by many democrats (https://maradolan.com/endorsements). She will make a huge difference on the Council. Many people left this slot unmarked at the last primary or didn’t vote for Mara because they didn’t know her.

“The Governor’s Council is an office that usually gets no publicity but is a very important body. They have the constitutional power of advice and consent to approve judicial appointments, pardons, sentence commutations, and their actions are key to the way justice is done in our judicial system. The Council also has executive functions to approve the appointment of constitutional officers when the legislature is not in session and other approval powers. The Council compiles and certifies the results of state elections.”

Please vote in the September 3rd primary and vote for Mara!
