Pilgrim Church Dedicates Rooftop Solar Panels
Pilgrim Congregational Church, UCC, at 55 Coolidge Avenue in Lexington, is pleased to announce that the church is now powered by solar energy, a pivot to a clean energy source. Pilgrim held a festive dedication in June to celebrate the completion of the rooftop solar panels. Mark Sandeen of Lexington’s Select Board, Cindy Davidson, Executive Director of Mass Interfaith Power and Light, Ricki Pappo, Chair of LexCAN, and David Kleinschmidt of SunBug Solar were in attendance.
“We are thrilled that our solar array is now online,” said Pilgrim’s Pastor Reebee Girash. “We are grateful to all who donated and worked well over a year to bring this project to fruition. Our choice to go solar is grounded in our congregation’s commitment to care for creation and address climate change.”
Pilgrim Church will not only contribute energy to the grid but also reduce electricity costs and the use of traditional energy sources. Pilgrim is pleased to join several other Lexington-based faith organizations that have worked to employ green energy sources.
