Why not add some color to your day, explore your creativity, or learn a new skill this summer?  There is still space in Munroe Center for the Arts’ Botanical Watercolor Painting class (beginning on July 8).

Join us on a gentle approach to the watercolor medium, providing students with the opportunity to explore and/or enhance skills with watercolors. This class will focus on training the eye with organic still-lifes and outdoor observation, to introduce layering and developing a sense of vibrancy and color. Students will be introduced to both technical skills (wet-on-wet), as well as art theory. Ideal for beginners, with all experience levels welcome!

Artist, illustrator, and instructor, Lea Baecksteiner, describes the class as “a deep observation of plants and flowers.” She aims to provide a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere where you can learn with “squinting eyes and gentle brushstrokes to grasp the essence of nature while having fun playing around with colors!”

In addition to Botanical Watercolors, adult classes in ceramics and figure drawing studio are also offered this summer. Classes run from July 8 – Aug. 16, sign up now at http://www.munroecenter.org/classes.html.
