Huzzah! A recent Lexington Times article told us how Captain John Parker and his men got their revenge. Now we will celebrate his birthday. On Saturday, July 13, from 11:00-2:00 pm, the Lexington 250 Commission will celebrate his 295th birthday with an enormous birthday cake (shaped like our statue) and 500 cupcakes on the Battle Green.
The event will include a Minuteman encampment, food trucks, activity tables for all ages, and a joint concert of the Lexington Bicentennial Band and the Concord Band. Also performing will be the Jamaica Plain Honk Band, Children’s Community Chorus, and William Diamond Junior Fife & Drum Corps. Bring your chairs and be prepared to sing Happy Birthday.
