Voices on the Green, First Parish in Lexington’s live music and storytelling series, returns to the stage on Friday night, April 12th at 7 pm at First Parish in Lexington, 7 Harrington Road. The theme for this spring’s show is “Breaking the Rules.” Tickets for the show are available online now.

Whether it’s engaging in civil disobedience, questioning the posted rules of behavior, ducking a bouncer at the door of a club, defying common medical practice, or fighting injustice when the common norms didn’t apply, our storytellers found themselves in situations where they broke the existing (stated or unstated) rules. Our storytellers are Emelyn Chiang, Ajay G, Valerie Overton, JoAnn Multready-Shick, Russ Tanner, and Don Yansen.

Music will be provided by pop singer/songwriter Jodi Heights and Lexington’s Ken Karnofsky.  Acclaimed poet/spoken word artist Regie O’Hare Gibson hosts our performance. The Community Partner for this event is LexPride, dedicated to building community and advancing equality for LGBTQIA+ people, their families, and allies, in Lexington.
