Lexington’s five-member Planning Board is responsible for short and long-term planning initiatives relative to land use and development. They also review of special permit applications.

Planning Board members are elected for three-year terms. Melanie Thompson and Michael Schanbacher’s terms are up, and the two are running for re-election, while Lin Jensen and Tina McBride are running as challengers. Two spots on the board are open in the election.

LexObserver sat down with each candidate to hear about their background, experience, and the issues that matter most to them and to all Lexington residents.
