Precinct: 4
Tell us a little about yourself. You can include your personal background, family, outside interests that are important to who you are as a person and a candidate.
My wife Radhika and I moved from Wayland to Lexington in 2005 with our daughter Sameera and son Preetham because of the town’s history, schools, and more importantly, diverse community. We live in Precinct 4. Both our children went though Bridge, Clarke & LHS. I am an IT Professional, specialized in Commerce.
How has your past experience — whether in your professional life, elected office, or as a community leader — prepared you for a role in Town Meeting?
I was instrumental in getting the Town Meeting pass the “Ranked Choice Voting” for Lexington Town Elections.
What is the most important issue in this election to you personally, and what ideas do you have about how to address this issue?
The new high school is a large project coming up. I think we need to build the school to meet the population growth from the affordable housing project, climate change demands, rapid technology changes, while lowering the capital and operational expenses.
Collaboration and negotiation are the pillars of success in my professional life. I led the Citizen Petition to bring “Ranked Choice Voting” to Lexington which was passed by the 2023 Special Town Meeting. I partnered with several Town Meeting members and took their help to set up informational sessions for the Town Meeting members, Lexington Town Democratic Committee, and LWV with the Voter Choice Mass to clarify questions from both supporting and opposing views. After it was passed by the 2023 Town Meeting, currently following up with the legislators at the State House.
