If you enjoy the Patriots Day 5-Mile Road Race and 4th of July Carnival, do you know that the Lexington Lions Club is behind these popular Lexington traditions?

Lexington Lions Club is part of Lions Clubs International, the world’s largest service club organization with over one million members in nearly 200 countries, with the motto “We Serve”.

Worldwide, Lions clubs are recognized for their service to the blind and visually impaired. This service began when Helen Keller challenged Lions to become “knights of the blind in the crusade against darkness” in 1925.

Over the years, Lexington Lions Club has collected over a million pairs of used eyeglasses, which are cleaned, prescription identified, and distributed worldwide. Our volunteer efforts also include providing/loaning vision enhancing equipment and other medical equipment such as wheelchairs and walkers for residents. We also support many other local organizations.

Excited about becoming a lion? Email LexLionsClub@gmail.com or call 781.862.4710. You can also ask any lion directly or go to lexingtonlions.org.

We look forward to hearing from you!

  1. Although the Lexington Lion’s Club has been receiving charitable donations for over 50 years, they are NOT a registered charity in MA.
