On Oct. 12 the Semiquincentennial Commission (Lex 250) will officially launch the early stages of planning for the townwide activities commemorating the 250th anniversary of the Battle of Lexington and other historic events related to the “Birthplace of American Liberty.”  The kickoff event will take place at Cary Library on Wednesday Oct. 12 at either 10:00 A.M. or 7:00 P.M.  Members of the Commission will be on hand to answer any questions, and most importantly welcome your input for any ideas on how to make this celebration a memorable one. We anticipate activities relating to Lex250 to run from late 2024 into early 2025, the 250th anniversary of the founding of our nation. Please join us and be a part of the planning for this historic initiative.
