The Community Endowment of Lexington (CEL) announces a $10,000 Capacity Building Grant to the Lexington Refugee Assistance Program (LexRap).

This grant will support LexRap’s efforts to hire a consultant to guide its Board through a leadership transition, including revisiting and possibly refining the organization’s mission and identifying a new leadership team that will best position LexRAP to achieve that mission.

“Ensuring a smooth change of leadership is a key element of any organization’s continued success, and CEL is pleased to be able to support LexRap as it strategically and mindfully prepares for what’s ahead,” explains CEL co-chair Ann Boese.

CEL funds grants to nonprofits and town agencies focused in four funding areas: arts and culture, community building, health and human services, and the environment. Since its founding in 2014, CEL has awarded 80 grants to 44 Lexington-serving organizations, totaling more than $400,000.

CEL launched its Capacity Building Grant program in 2019, with support from the Ciccolo Family Foundation. The goal of this program is to fund efforts that strengthen a nonprofit’s ability to achieve its mission, such as infrastructure building, strategic planning, staff training, and more.
