Walk Through Lent with Hancock Church

All are invited to walk through their Lenten journey at Hancock Church, right on the Battle Green at 1912 Mass. Ave. in Lexington! The church celebrates Mardi Gras with a festive service that includes New Orleans Jazz, gospel, and brass on Feb. 11 at 5 pm! Then on Ash Wednesday, Feb. 14, one can receive ashes and a blessing via Hancock’s Drive-thru Ashes from 6:30 – 7:30 am and 12 – 1 pm. In the evening is a contemplative Ash Wednesday Service led by the Rev. Dr. Barbara Callaghan at 7 pm. This service can be attended both in person or virtually via LexMedia or Youtube.com/HancockChurch.

To encourage a more exterior focus on prayer and worship both nationally and worldwide, the Lenten theme follows one of the lessons of Gandhi: “Be the change you wish to see in the world.” Every Sunday carries its own specialization leading up to Holy Week including Generosity, Mercy, Faithfulness, Compassion, and Courage. Sunday morning worship is at 10 am and can be attended both in person and virtually.
