2026 Martin Luther King Holiday – A Week of Celebrations 2026
The 2026 celebration marks a significant and exciting expansion of Lexington’s tradition. For the
very first time, the community will host a WEEK of activities, spanning multiple days and
venues, dedicated to commemorating Dr. King’s enduring principles. MLK Day of Service engagements organized by Town of Lexington committees are FREE to the public and open to all ages. Please mark your calendars.
The week of programs is designed to bring together all segments of the community—neighbors, students and schools, youth and elders, diverse faith groups, and local organizations—for a week of purposeful service, intellectual learning, cultural arts, music, and quiet reflection. As Lexington honors Dr. King’s legacy, it reaffirms its core values of equity, empathy, democracy, and a shared purpose to uplift all people.
