Lexington High School Winterfest

An annual highlight of the LHS Performing Arts calendar, Winterfest is a two-night celebration of student-created plays hosted in LHS’s Black Box Theater. It’s a unique opportunity for students to play all the roles–writing, acting, directing, and more–in creating original pieces of theater. The performance is headlined by a derived piece, created from scratch by a group of students under the guidance of drama teacher Zachary McCoubry, followed by the premieres of several student-written and student-directed one-act plays. Finally, to cap off a trifecta of student-created theatrical delights, there will be a short performance by the LHS Improv Troupe as well.

This year’s Winterfest is scheduled for January 24 and 25, at 7 p.m. The event is free, although donations are welcome.
