Into the Silent Land: LHS Wind Ensemble and Sandy Hook Promise

The Lexington High School Wind Ensemble will be performing an original piece, “Into the Silent Land,” composed by Sandy Hook Elementary School alum, Steve Danyew, for a local audience in March.

Danyew’s piece honors those who were so tragically killed in the Newtown school shooting. Members of the nonprofit organization, Sandy Hook Promise, will be presenting at the high school concert in March to raise awareness around their efforts to protect children from gun violence and to provide education about gun safety reforms. Steve Danyew will also be working with the music students here in Lexington during the rehearsals leading up to the concert on March 27.
