First Shot: The Day The Revolution Began

Once the smoke clears on Lexington Green following the annual reenactment of the Battle of Lexington, you may have some questions about what you just witnessed. Never fear! Take a closer look at the battle and why the Revolution started here during this special multi-part program. Each presentation starts with the viewing of our award-winning short documentary First Shot: The Day the Revolution Began, followed by a Q&A session with reenactors. Ask them all of your questions about the Revolution, and what it’s like to recreate it in modern times. Then, the Lexington Historical Society Colonial Singers invite you to join them in song, sharing the most popular tunes of the day and some political music history along the way.
Screenings at 9:00, 10:00, and 11:00 AM
