Festival of Colors Returns to Lexington: A Celebration of Community, Culture, and Joy

As spring blossoms across Lexington, bringing renewed energy and vibrant colors to the landscape, the community is invited to come together for one of its most joyful and inclusive traditions — the Festival of Colors (Holi).

Taking place on Sunday, June 7, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Hastings Park, this beloved annual celebration reflects the spirit of unity, diversity, and togetherness that defines Lexington.

Rooted in the Indian festival of Holi, the Festival of Colors has grown into a multicultural community event that welcomes families from all backgrounds. It is a celebration not just of spring, but of friendship, shared experiences, and the many cultures that call Lexington home.

This year’s festival promises an exciting lineup of activities and performances. Attendees can look forward to 21 multicultural performances, featuring over 200 performers representing communities from around the world — including American, Spanish, Eastern European (Mladost), Chinese, Taiwanese, Sri Lankan, Indian, and more. Two live bands will add to the festive atmosphere, with musical influences spanning continents.

Food lovers will enjoy a diverse selection of seven multicultural cuisines, along with refreshing ice cream treats — making it a true culinary journey. The event will also feature community booths and local vendors, offering a chance to connect, explore, and support local initiatives.

Families and children will find plenty to enjoy throughout the afternoon. From bouncy houses and outdoor games to henna art and face painting, the festival is designed to be engaging and welcoming for all ages. Adding to the energy of the event, six high school emcees will guide the program, bringing enthusiasm and local youth leadership to the stage.

The highlight of the festival — and its most iconic moment — is the playing with organic colors. In this joyful tradition, participants come together to throw vibrant, eco-friendly colored powders into the air, symbolizing the arrival of spring, the triumph of positivity, and the beauty of shared celebration. It is a moment of pure joy that brings strangers together as friends.

More than just an event, the Festival of Colors is a reflection of Lexington’s identity — a town enriched by its diversity and strengthened by its sense of community.

All are welcome to attend and be part of this colorful, lively, and meaningful celebration.
