Don’t Get Scammed: Community Guide to Staying Safe

January 17 @ 11:00 am EST

The Knights of Columbus Lexington Council 94, Lexington Police Department and Operation Shamrock will be co-hosting a free financial seminar, “Don’t Get Scammed: Community Guide to Staying Safe.”  This free community class educates all attendees about modern scams and how to outsmart them.  Attendees will receive practical prevention tips, a take-home fraud prevention check list and expert guidance on what to do if they or someone they know falls victim.  The seminar is open to the whole Lexington community.

The seminar will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at 11AM at the Knights of Columbus Heritage Hall at 177 Bedford St. in Lexington, MA.

The free seminar will feature experts from Operation Shamrock and the Lexington Police Department that will cover:

  • The top scams hitting our community right now (pig butchering, phishing, romance & investment scams).
  • How to spot red flags before it is too late.  What to do if you or a loved one gets scammed.
  • Real-life cases (yes, they happen here).  Resources for victims – and steps for recovery.

The Knights of Columbus was founded in 1882 to provide financial security to underserved communities. The Knights of Columbus Lexington Council 94, established in 1894, has served in this capacity for over 130 years.  This financial seminar continues this service to the Lexington community and beyond.
