Cantemus Chorus Declares “love is love is love”

Lexington High School’s Director of Choruses, Jason Iannuzzi, will conduct the 38-singer Cantemus Chamber Chorus in two Mother’s Day weekend concerts titled “love is love is love.” The program explores four forms of love: between parent and child, for friends, between lovers, and love for humanity. LHS seniors Izzy Baron and Deniz Dokmecioglu, along with Beverly High School senior Braden Willenbrock, are Cantemus Choral Interns who have rehearsed and performed with the chorus since September.

The “love is love is love” program mixes modern arrangements of traditional songs with tender songs by such well-known composers as Pablo Casals, Leonard Bernstein, and Eric Whitacre — and more robust works by the humorous P.D.Q. Bach. Performances will be at St.Peter’s Church in Beverly on May 11 at 7:30 pm, and St. Paul’s Church in Newburyport on May 12 at 4:00 pm. For more information and tickets, visit www.cantemus.org.
