BOSTON’S FRIEDREICH ATAXIA (FA) COMMUNITY TO BIKE ALONG BATTLEFIELDS OF THE REVOLUTIONARY WAR TO RAISE AWARENESS AND CRUCIAL FUNDS FOR RARE, GENETIC AND LIFE SHORTENING DISEASE; Friedreich’s Ataxia Research Alliance (FARA) aims to raise $1+ million in 2024 for FA research
Kyle Bryant and Alex Fielding will join Biogen employees and the larger FA community in the 2024 rideATAXIA Hometown Boston bike ride benefitting FA research.
Bryant founded rideATAXIA in 2007 and it quickly evolved from a small family fundraiser to a nationwide movement of cycling events across the U.S. to support the urgent pace of research to treat and cure FA.
Bryant has participated in many awe-inspiring endurance rides – including a 3,000-mile non-stop race from California to Maryland which became the subject of an award-winning documentary (“The Ataxian”) – and just returned from the Himalayas where he and the rideATAXIA cycling team scaled the highest paved road in the world. Bryant is also co-host of the “Two Disabled Dudes” podcast and author of “Shifting Into High Gear” which chronicles his experiences, challenges, and triumphs living with FA.
Bryant and Fielding can discuss their personal experiences with FA and how events like rideATAXIA support the mission to promote widespread awareness of and drive research funding. Biogen executives can speak to the company’s support of the FA community and efforts to address a significant unmet need by bringing the first FDA-approved treatment to people living with FA.
