How AI Remembers, Imagines, and Creates

How do people use memories to imagine something new—and can AI do the same?
In this public talk, Dr. Haixun Wang will explain, in everyday language, how memory, imagination, and creativity may be connected, and what these ideas can teach us about modern AI.
No technical background is required. The talk is open to anyone curious about how AI works and how it may shape the future of human creativity.
About the Speaker
Haixun Wang is an ACM Fellow, IEEE Fellow, Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Data Engineering Bulletin, VLDB trustee, and Affiliate Professor at the University of Washington. He is currently VP of Engineering and Head of AI at EvenUp, where he develops LLM and generative-AI technologies for legal and medical document understanding. Previously, he held AI leadership roles at Instacart, WeWork, Amazon, and Meta, and conducted research at Microsoft, Google, and IBM.
