Today marks the end of a long contract dispute between the Town of Lexington and Lexington Firefighters Local 1491. Throughout this process, one thing never changed. Every day, Lexington firefighters continued to answer every call, respond to every emergency, and serve this community with the same professionalism and dedication our residents expect and deserve.
As the contract dispute has come to an end, we want to take a moment to thank the people who stood with us along the way.
The support we received from Lexington residents was remarkable. Whether it was an email to town officials, a conversation at the grocery store, a message on social media, or simply words of encouragement while we were on duty, your support reminded us that our work is valued and appreciated.
Public service is built on trust. We are grateful that so many residents took the time to learn about the issues, listen to our concerns, and support the goal of ensuring Lexington firefighters are treated fairly.
As we move forward, our focus remains exactly where it has always been: protecting the lives, property, and well-being of everyone who lives, works, and visits Lexington.
On behalf of the men and women of Lexington Firefighters Local 1491, thank you for your unwavering support throughout this process. We are honored to serve this community.

President, Lexington Firefighters Local 1491
