I am proud to support Kunal Botla for the Planning Board because our community deserves thoughtful, balanced, and forward-looking leadership. He is a self-motivated, enthusiastic participant in town government, very early in his career as a town meeting member (TMM). His advocacy for MBTA issues, involvement in the transportation advisory committee, and his ability to make informed decisions in town meetings show his commitment to addressing complex issues independently.

We all deeply care about how our town develops. Development decisions affect our neighborhoods, schools, traffic, environment, and overall quality of life for years to come. That is why it is so important to have someone on the Planning Board who carefully and objectively considers each issue with the community’s long-term interests in mind. I believe Kunal can bring the perspective he has been advocating, focusing on neighborhood-oriented businesses and recognizing that the needs of Lexington Center are different from those of Hartwell Avenue. I agree with him.

Kunal believes in asking the right questions, studying the facts, and making sure that development aligns with the master plan and community values. All of this is accomplished through all members of the Planning Board working together as a team. I am confident that his analytical approach and attention to detail will enable him to evaluate proposals collegially and responsibly.

Kunal is known as an excellent listener, attentive to different perspectives and ideas. I believe that planning decisions are most effective when residents feel heard and respected. Open dialogue, transparency, and collaboration are essential for building trust between the board and the community. Kunal understands how decisions impact families, homeowners, and local businesses, and he takes these impacts seriously. Additionally, he acknowledges the importance of sustainability, infrastructure planning, the effects of climate change, and, most importantly, the tax burden on residents.

Most of all, I support Kunal because of his integrity, his academic training, and his intent to bring philosophy and principles into planning. Careful judgment and independence are essential qualities for a Planning Board member. My interactions with Kunal revealed his genuine desire to contribute and his humble, professional approach to public service.

For all these reasons, I firmly believe Kunal Botla is the right choice for the Planning Board. I am confident he will serve our community with dedication, fairness, and a clear focus on protecting what makes our town unique while planning responsibly for its future.

Sincerely,

Dr. Sudhir Ranjan, TMM Precinct 8
