Mystic Chorale invites all who love to sing to experience the power of singing gospel music with more than 150 others as part of the Mystic Chorale, led by award-winning director and composer, Jonathan Singleton. The chorus will prepare and sing a spirit-filled concert, Mystic Gospel: The Gospel of Jazz featuring an eclectic mix of music rooted in the African-American gospel tradition.

They’ll perform a diverse repertoire highlighting the unique connection between gospel and jazz and featuring the music of many jazz and gospel artists. The program will include Run On as performed by Tom Jones, Let’s Have Church as performed by The Choir Room, Come Sunday by Duke Ellington, and Wade in the Water as performed by Kirk Whalum.

The chorus will be joined by special guest, Renese King, who has been the featured soloist with the BSO, the Boston Pops, the Tanglewood Festival Chorus, and more.

Eight rehearsals will be held on Tuesdays from 7:30 – 9:30 starting on January 7th at First Parish in Arlington. The concert will be held on March 1st at Cary Hall in Lexington.
