Join Communities United, Inc. for our FREE community event focused on children’s literacy and listen to local authors share their stories. Programs include literacy-themed Arts & Crafts, fun giveaways and raffles, and story-times with Literary Luminaries, Elizabeth Suneby, Brooke Bourgeois, and Shana Gozansky.
Elizabeth Suneby is a local writer and author. She loves hosting interactive readings and workshops with children of all ages, using her books as springboards to explore important topics ranging from gratitude, kindness, and education for all children worldwide, to sustainability.
Brooke Bourgeois is a cartoonist and illustrator based in New York City. Her cartooning work has been published in The New Yorker, Private Eye, The Harvard Lampoon, and The Drift. Brooke’s children’s books are heavily influenced by cartoons and animation, and her greatest hope is that her pictures and stories can make people laugh.
Shana Gozansky writes children’s books and directs plays. She has written Phaidon’s My Art Book series, selected as one of Oprah’s Favorite Things 2023, and co-authored RISE x Penguin Workshop’s How To Be a Witch with Gabrielle Balkan.
