The Patriots’ Day Road Race is a longstanding tradition in Lexington with a rich history dating back to its inaugural run in 1914. Until this year, the race has occurred at 10:00 am on Patriots’ Day. Marking its 110th anniversary, the Lions Club has decided to adjust the start time to 9:00 am, so that participants who contribute to the Boston Marathon preparations can run in our race and still make it to Boston in time for their afternoon responsibilities.

The Lions Club’s research indicates that the Patriots’ Day Road Race is the fourth oldest race in the nation. The Lions have been the proud organizer for over eight decades, with all proceeds supporting the Massachusetts Lions Journey for Sight Program.
