In the presidential primaries, Lexington’s Democratic primary voters overwhelmingly voted for President Biden, while Lexington Republican voters favored Nikki Haley over Donald Trump by nearly two to one. Her big win in Lexington was not enough for Haley, who is expected to suspend her campaign today.

Congratulations to all the successful candidates. One clarification: It is misleading to say “Democrats overwhelmingly voted for President Biden, while Lexington Republicans favored Nikki Haley.” Many voters are Unenrolled and choose a party ballot in the primaries. There’s nothing wrong with that, just suggesting you edit the copy to reflect that.
