The following incidents were selected from the Lexington Police Department log during the week leading up to April 5. The Lexington Observer does not independently verify this information.
Community Engagement
Sunday, March 30 at 7:30 p.m., Officers monitored a meeting at Town Hall, and all was in order.
Thursday, April 2 at 10 a.m., Lieutenant Dunbar attended the Lexington START Committee workshop at Town Hall.
Friday, April 3 at 8:20 a.m., an officer assisted with the Hastings bike train event.
Comfort Dogs
Monday, March 30 at 12:15 p.m., Detective Sullivan and K9 Maisey visited Clarke Middle School and greeted students and staff in the guidance office.
Thursday, April 2 at 10 a.m., K9 Maisey and K9 Watson attended their monthly Pawfice hours hosted at the Community Center. During their time, both dogs visited middle school students who were participating in Upstander Training.
Saturday, April 4 at 9:05 a.m., Detectives Sullivan and Hankins attended the Community Center egg hunt with K9 Maisey and K9 Watson.
Suspicious Activity
Tuesday, March 31 at 10:55 p.m., a caller reported a gray or black Mercedes driving slowly past on Marrett Rd. It appeared to be making U-turns at the Scottish Rite Museum. The responding officer checked the area, and there were no suspicious vehicles matching the description.
Wednesday, April 1 at 7:20 p.m., a Hayes Rd. resident reported an individual had approached her side door. When he made eye contact with her, he walked back to a white van and left. The responding officer checked the area, but was unable to locate the subject or the white van.
Saturday, April 4 at 10:20 a.m., a Follen Rd. caller reported a man had been banging on her door for several minutes. The responding officer reported there had been a misunderstanding over a purchase made by the caller. The man at the door was delivering a honey order, and he tried to reach the caller about the delivery by knocking on her door. All was in order.
Saturday, April 4 at 5:55 p.m., a caller reported two juveniles with their bikes appearing to be hiding at a construction site on Middle St. The responding officer reported that the site was untouched and there were no juveniles present. The reporting party called back, stating the juveniles had moved on to a Pheasant Lane site. The responding officer spoke to the juveniles who said they had been exploring the site on Middle St. because they “were bored.” The officer explained they were trespassing, and they apologized and agreed not to return. Both stated they rode their bikes to Pheasant Lane to get away from the reporting party, who had been following them in his vehicle. The officer spoke with the parents of the juveniles and informed them of the situation when they came to pick up their kids. The reporting party remained on scene and was satisfied after speaking with the officers.
Disturbance and Noise Complaint
Wednesday, April 1 at 12:05. p.m., an Avalon at Lexington Hills – Main Campus Drive resident reported an argument with another individual in the parking garage. The responding officer reported all was calm upon his arrival.
Sunday, April 5 at 1:10 a.m., a Ralph Rd. resident reported loud music from his neighbor’s residence. The responding officer spoke to the residents, and they agreed to turn down the music for the night.
Town Bylaw 455 Reminder
“The use of gas-powered leaf blowers is prohibited for all residents effective March 15, 2026. This follows a ban on commercial landscapers, which took effect on March 15, 2025. The restrictions, part of an amendment to the Town Noise Bylaw, aim to eliminate noise pollution and toxic emissions from these machines.”
Friday, April 3 at 8:50 a.m., Handy Landscaping Company of Waltham was using gas-powered leaf blowers at a residence on Augustus Rd.
Saturday, April 4 at 11:25 a.m., Diaz Landscaping was using electric leaf blowers on Circle Rd.
Saturday, April 4 at 12:55 p.m., an officer spoke with Northeast Gardening, Inc. after a complaint regarding gas leaf blowers on Buckman Dr. A warning was given. Homeowners were not at home at the time.
Saturday, April 4 at 2:15 p.m., a complaint was made regarding Nolaski Landscaping of Waltham, using gas leaf blowers at a residence on Middle St.
Saturday, April 4 at 3:45 p.m., a complaint was made regarding gas leaf blower activity on Phillip Rd. by a Sorio Landscaping and Tree Service of Waltham.
Animal Control and Complaints
Three cheers for our K9 friends. There were no loose dogs reported.
Saturday, April 4 at 12:15. p.m., an Emerson Rd. resident reported a large raccoon on his porch that appeared to be sick. The responding officer deployed pepper spray, and the raccoon was not a hazard. The officer advised the family to call if anything of concern occurred.
On Sunday, April 5 at 8:30 a.m., an Outlook Drive resident reported an injured skunk had its head stuck in a can. It was bleeding profusely from the neck and running around in pain. When the responding officer checked the area outside the house, the skunk was gone.
Sunday, April 5 at 9:00 a.m., another call came in regarding the skunk with its head stuck in a can. It had moved on down Outlook Drive. The responding officer observed it was moving along on its own, and no further action was taken.
Fraud
Tuesday, March 31 at 10:35 a.m., a Greenwood St. resident reported that $2,350 had been fraudulently withdrawn from her Citizens Bank checking account and deposited in a Zelle account. This incident was also reported to Citizens Bank.
Friday, April 3 at 8:30 a.m., a Cottage St. resident reported someone attempted to withdraw $4,800 from his wife’s Citizens Bank account. He stated the unknown individual had been unable to answer the security questions, and Citizens Bank was aware of the situation.
Saturday, April 4 at 11:10 a.m., a Vynebrooke Village resident reported checking account fraud. He had attempted to withdraw money from a Cambridge Savings Bank ATM, and his card was declined. He went to his bank and spoke to a representative, who told him they had frozen the account after an unknown individual attempted to access it. Cambridge Savings Bank advised this resident to report this fraud to the police. There was no monetary loss.
