I want to commend here two very outstanding young men from Lexington, MA. Both young ran for public office — Mr. Salvador Jaramillo for School Committee and Mr. Kunal Bolta for Planning Board — and both lost. They both were outstanding students, went through our Lexington Public Schools and both are from minority immigrant families. Both are from families that came to this country for better lives, like most of the citizens of this country. We are all Americans. I hope the outstanding young women and men of Lexington do not get discouraged and continue running for local office, regardless their race and economic backgrounds. When Lexington has one of the best schools in the nation, what do we expect our outstanding, smart and intelligent students to do when they come of age? One  of their options is to serve the town they grew up in and love, to give back to the Lexington community.

Let’s support all our young people to run for offices in the future.
