Lexington, MA

Tell us a little about yourself. You can include your personal background, family, outside interests that are important to who you are as a person and a candidate.

I moved to Lexington in 1997 after writing my Ph.D. on secondary school curriculum in Massachusetts and determining that this was a desired place to raise children. My three children went through the Lexington schools, and my partner’s children attended Lexington and Minuteman schools.

I work as a data scientist, with a principal responsibility to understand data and guide others towards how to use data effectively. I hope to promote engagement in Lexington public affairs across the community.

Why are you running for Town Meeting?

Lexington is a diverse community, but Town Meeting could represent community diversity better. I want to ensure diverse viewpoints are represented, and also promote members of our community who represent segments and perspectives under-represented in our incumbent-favoring system.

What is the most important issue in this election to you personally, and what ideas do you have about how to address this issue?

Affordability.
What options do we have to prioritize spending?
Can the town postpone some discretionary spending to make Lexington more affordable for all?

I will continue to raise questions about priorities and choices and advocate for efficient, well-planned spending.
